About the Role

Family Worker with Family Referral services is a full time, fixed term (until 30 June 2020) position based in Wagga Wagga, NSW.

The Family Worker role is to assist in delivering quality services under the Family Referral Service (FRS) by providing information, complex intake and screening, referrals and case coordination services to clients contacting the services of Relationships Australia and liaise with a wide range of external stakeholders to ensure strong referral pathways. This may include direct work or coordination with Department of Education, Juvenile Justice, Catholic Education and others.

To be successful in this role, you are required to possess:

  • A qualification in social welfare, or related discipline and/or relevant experience.
  • Excellent observational, telephonic communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage and   interact sensitively with a diverse range of people, particularly children, families, partners and stakeholder.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and advocacy skills to act on behalf of vulnerable clients and demonstrated ability to rapidly identify client needs, assess risk, respond  and prioritise accordingly.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local services available to children and their families as well as demonstrated networking and relationship building skills.

Salary & Benefits

The salary on offer is in the range of $74,564.27 to $75,671.87 per annum plus superannuation for full time. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), RACR employees also receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities, thus significantly increasing the value of your take-home pay.

According to the RACR Enterprise Agreement, the successful candidate will have access to generous leave provisions, annual leave loading, special paid leave during annual holiday shutdown period and flexible working arrangements.
