Gambling harm and the ACT - 07 November 2019

Facilitated by Relationships Australia and the ACT Gambling Counselling and Support Service, this free one-day workshop aims to increase understanding and awareness about gambling harm to support workers in screening and identifying people who are impacted by gambling related harm.

Ultimately this training aims to equip people from a range of service settings to reduce the potential and actual harms of gambling among the people they support.

Learning outcomes:
• highlight the impacts of gambling in Australia and, more specifically, in the ACT
• raise awareness of the spectrum of gambling harms to individuals, families and communities, with a particular focus on co-occurring issues and the statistical likelihood
• understand how and why gambling harm in its continuum is being viewed through a public health framework
• help participant to screen and identify people who are impacted by gambling related harm
