Trauma Informed Yoga: Free Beginners' Class

A free, trauma-informed beginners yoga class for people with a disability in Wagga Wagga.

Relationships Australia Canberra and Region’s Disability Royal Commission Counselling Service and Yoga with Bec are teaming up to provide a free, trauma-informed beginners yoga class to people with a disability.

The class is open for anyone who has physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments which, in interaction with various attitudinal and environmental barriers, hinders their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others. We hope that through the classes participants will learn strategies to feel calm and safe in their own bodies.

The classes will be inclusive of people with all abilities. A counsellor will be present throughout to support participants emotionally. They can engage with free counselling outside of the classes if they wish.

The Disability Royal Commission Counselling Service is a free, flexible and trauma-informed service is available to support anyone who is impacted by the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (Disability Royal Commission) including people with disability, family, friends, carers, allies and support workers.
